Just after a bit of advice really.

Haven't been on the forum for a while, but I have been considering changing my graphics card.

From what I can gather it seems that I won't really get any increase in game performance by getting the 580, however it will set me up with DX11, and has the benefit of being a single chip card.

I've actually been really impressed with the 295. I can max all of my games and get good frame rates.

So, is it worth the switch?

Probably not worth the switch now, you're impressed with the 295 and claim good frames on maxed out, what else could you want?

Maybe wait a while once GTX 580 are back in stock and not so expensive.

The 295 is still a great card! Honestly, unless you just feel the need to blow some cash, I’d definitely stick with it. Get an SSD instead

    Agreed keep what you have.
GTX 580 is what Fermi should have been. As much tempting it is, I would still wait for Nvidia next GPU. I mean if I can play all the latest games at max max settings at 1920x1200 @60fps+, with my GTX 260, then your GPU is more than fine.

You have to admit, that it feels good to have a GPU that is like a gaming console, where you can keep it for.. well now it what.. 3 years.... let's say 4-5 years before needing to update.

Cheers for the responses guys. I think I will hang on to the 295 for now, in that case.
