Isit worth having a Fan Controller installed? I have a SilverStone FT02 case. Read that the fans can be noisey at full speed when connected directly to the PSU. Would it be worth connecting the case fans to the motherboard instead? Or do you guys not prefer that? I assume the motherboard would control the speed of the case fans according to temperature?
Setting up a PC to auto-regulate the fan speeds can be a bit of a headache, I use a fan controller to dial down particularly my front intake fan as it's the most audible. I't nice being able to crank it back up at the twist of a knob when things get toasty.
I have the same case, use a fan controller and set them all to minimum. I can't hear the case fans any more!
Would that mean connecting the fans to the PSU would be a waste due to the fact that those fans do not need to be running at full speed as the temps inside never get that high?
And you CPU temp is.... 85degrees? I plugged mine into the mobo and it's plenty quiet. The heatsinks and airflow through the case are so good I don't think I've seen it go above 30degrees. I guess you should try and see what you like best.
