Im about to come into a bit of money and im tempted to spend it upgrading my tyan 9600 pro to a 9800 pro so i can get a few more fps with AA on and jack the detail up to max on things like Planetside, is it worth it or is the performance difference between these cards not going to be worth the £180 ish?

not worth £180 for the difference, but if you can get a good price for the 9600 then yes definately get the 9800pro.

I'd say go for it if you game a lot - you really can see the difference between my 9800pro and the 9600xt a mate has. It wouldn't cost you that much anyway - sapphire 9800pros can now be picked up for about £140-£150, and you could sell the 9600 pro for about half that.

the trade in program is fine, if you live in the States or Canada, i couldnt find a single word about trade-ins from the U.K. and if you wait a bit the prices most likely will have dropped again, like they usually do, the day after you invest your cash.
