The External TA - its just crying out at me to mod it, but ive no idea what todo to it. :sigh:

Basically i thought the basic bloo leds instead of green ones, or an array of diff coloured ones (bloo, yellow, red etcetc).
Its a piece of pish to take apart so that's no trouble, the insides look, well crap tbh so i dunno ?!!

    Any ideas?

off the cuff, paint and replace the greens for bloos as you said... I considered for my external modem just stripping the outside and fastening the guts to the inside of my case but decided against it since I will get cable modem soon enough

Dremel the hayes logo out then fill the gaps with clear casting resin after that sand it down so its smooth then back light it with blue el sheet or leds! Oh and paint it black ;)

Yea, a coat of black paint would be good, and sand off the Hayes logo. Im tempted to replace it with some other logo then... hmm

What I always do is try to find things I can use to house existing PC parts. I can't htink of anything off hand, but wouldn't it be cool if you built it into a travel case just barely big enough to house a keyboard, mouse, and headphones as well?

Other than that, swap out LEDs, paint the sucker black, possibly use chrome strips around the edge, cut some holes for some "ground effects" lighting below it, and post some pics to show it off!

or just stick EL tape to the bottom for some glowing effects, might be easyer than cutting holes in the bottom

Paint it in green to black fade with green el under it. Then replace the LEDs with alternating blue and white LEDs and put in a window.
Put a Blue orb heat sink on something and etch the window with ta nice Bio Hazard Symbol.

    That should get you started.:cooldude:

Got some scrap plexi? Make some wings for the sides and light em up. The damn thing looks like a Cylon fighter from Battlestar Galactica already.

I was gonna photoshop up q quick version of this, but the Hayes web geniuses are intercepting right-clicks...

vinyl dye it black, and replace the leds with like, blue, white, purple, etc..

maybe etch out the hayes logo (or any other logo) and slap a few LED's behind it..
