i can post pics if sum1 will host them for me i have 2 diffrent types i small and 1 very big gusee u need 2 c the pics really. i just want 2 no what they wud be used 4 and wot they do oh and how much r they worth hehe since i have aquired quite a few
See them holes? The wire (or a copper busbar carrying power) goes through them, you connect up a meter & measure the wire current. Used for (very) high AC currents, often at high voltage.

Current transformers like these are used in small factories to enable engineers to measure the current drawn from the supply. They're more useful than standard electricity meters that only measure power usage, because electricity suppliers charge for the volts and amps, not the power drawn (VA and not W). This lets the engineers find out if the volts and amps are out of phase causing them to pay for more power than they're using. (power factor).
