This is a question which may have been asked alot before me but here it is.....

Im thinking about having a brand logo on my current build which i have a log of, is there any copy write law which i need to be aware of.
I know that im not selling or publishing my work but is having a bit tech log classed as publishing to the public?

Any answers would be great, its not a definate design yet but just wanted to know before going too far.

    Cheers.

Personal use stuff like that I wouldn't blink an eye at. But you take the responsibility of the 'infringement' (I say that very lightly). And which brand logo? If anything they would want you to have it on there, its free advertising space...

It's really only if you profit off the use of the logo... so say you had a build that said "Reviewed and endorsed by Asus" and then sold it on on that premise for 20% more... usually a company will kick up a stink.

Heck I doubt the B-T dudes will mind. Saying that someone should make a rig dedicated to Bit-Tech's insanity.

Kinda sorta rises the question of why advertise a company on your build for free? ;)

Personally I see it that way around.

Because most people would say "no thanks" because after all it's only you, and maybe 3 mates who'll ever see the case and notion is if they're oggling the case, they already know the manufacturer/company.

I don't see why not.. corsair gives you case badges with their power supplies

it's only when your rig explodes and you uploaded it on youtube (usually nvidia related) they don't want to see the logo plastered all over it
