    I am using a H/D enclosure from www.quietpc.co.uk .

Works well. De-couples h/d from case reducing mechanical noise and acoustic damping inside reduces noise to less than my case fans.

This model looks like it will transfer heat better with the alu casing. Very nice.

moo what case you got I got one with those plastic rails so don't know if it will get enough heat away from the hd so it may overheat in those what do you think?

    scan sell them... http://web6.scan.co.uk/Products/Info.asp?WPID=21797

I doubt they'll help much with noise, they're supposed to keep drives cool and make them easily interchangable. Pretty sure it had fans and will actually increase the noise of most systems.

My case has metal drive supports which get warm where my drive holder is bolted on. I mounted a quiet 40mm fan to blow air over the cooling fins and now its cooled down.

I had a look at http://www.cremax.com.tw/mb122-ide.htm for some more info. Your design does have a small fan built in, and the aluminium construction should radiate heat away, hopefully it will be cooler than it is now, you can always 7v the fan.

Getting back you your original question, the design doesn't say it is intended to quieten the hard drive, but I imagine it will help.

Can someone point out a review on this for me?

I need to know if it will be ok in my antec with the door closed! Not sure if it extrudes from the drive bay too much or not?
