Im looking at going to it, I mean, it's a stones throw from Cardiff and I can definately go to the special stages in the Mil-Stad. Ive been reading the site and Ive found the timetable of events but Im not entirely sure how it works for the spectator. Apparently there are routes but I cant find a link to a physical map of the stage layouts and since they're kilometers in length, if you want to get to a good spot in the middle for example HOW do you get there? Walk? It starts at 6-7am, and in december in the welsh mountain forests = dark! I suppose you've got to pick a stage for that day, rather than try and be at everyone which is impossible even though they do do the same courses twice in a day.
I just dont really get it and would love some advise from people who have been to know how it all really shakes down from the personal experience perspective.

I've been to more local ones, find a corner you like in advance, park near, walk there, bring supplies. Daresay I'll come down for this one.

EDIT: after reading the link it looks like you buy a ticket in advance, park in an "event car park" and take it from there.

I expect so, I've not been to a WRC one before though, just a local-ish one a couple of times.
