There are some nice watches here. My current watch after wearing a Seiko Kinetic for a few years is a Tissot PRC200
Casio Wave Ceptor WVQ-570 1AVER official sponsor watch of the 2008 SEAT BTCC team, a surprising amount of technical tricks in it for a watch. not the most glamorous watch around but as a petrol head I had to have it.
I got this Timex SL T2M759 a while back... it's worth around £100 or so but I was very lucky to snatch it up in Argos at half price for just £49.
Heh, I don't even have to re-upload my image from the previous thread: I've become quite attached to it. Barring things I can't afford or justify, it's all I need or want. If I eventually manage to lose of kill it I'll just buy a new one.
Some nice watches in here! I can't remeber the last time i wore a watch... I had two nice ones once before but i just would always forget to wear it, the natural instinct to put it on in the morning just never happened. I want to get a nice one, but i just find wearing watches and any form of wristband/jewellery so clunky and uncomfortable.
Here we go I'm cheating again too pic from another thread. It was my great grandfathers watch from when he retired from the coal mines in the early 1900s [/IMG]
Mod to the rescue! That's lovely longbeard - I'm in the market for a new daily watch, but I only like very light ones. Could I be cheeky and ask you to weigh it?
Too many tales of them falling to bits in 5 minutes. I don't mind spending a bit of money on a good watch, but spending on flimsy ones annoys me.
Oh, never heard of anything like that, do you have any links? Mine has been solid as a rock ever since I got it!
Seiko makes a titanium quartz chrono that is all but weightless. So much so that despite the "exotic material" appeal I couldn't bring myself to buy one because it just felt cheap. Here's a list of Seiko watches in titanium. Yes, I'm an unabashed Seiko fan. I'm sure others make good watches, good lightweight watches and/or good titanium watches. Can't be bothered to look them up
Both of my parents wear Skagen watches every day and they've been solid since new, both are approaching two years old. I like big watches, but neither of them find a large watch comfortable, so they favour Skagen for the extremely slim, "almost not there" design. I'm thinking of getting another Tissot in the new year. I've been wearing my T-Touch Ti Expert every day for more than two months and am still waiting to get parts for my (previous daily wear) 8 year old Accurist, but I'd love this PR100 to replace it as my "work watch"; I love blue dials and an automatic would be so handy for every day wear. I also need a waterproof watch, and my Accurist lost its waterproof seal after the first battery change. I'm attempting to get it watertight again, but as I've said, I'm waiting on a couple of parts for it at the moment, namely a caseback seal, bracelet spring bars and a stem and crown.
Not a problem, I shall throw it on a balance on Monday when I go back into work It is quite a thick watch though, 11mm, maybe a tad chunky if you're after lightness. Any who, I'll leave this here, gives you the model detail, the other 2 available colours and a host of someone else's photos to look though in the mean time http://forums.watchuseek.com/f305/c...ck-military-style-review-pictures-640764.html
Mixed opinions on Skagen then. As much as I value the minimalist design, it still feels solid. It just gets scratched and mucky easily. Anyway, this is finally getting serviced tomorrow! W00P!
