    different promlem

I have a different problem, i have been testting the writter and it works fine if i set it to master and put it on the end of the ide cable, but if i put it on the other connection on the ide cable or with another cd-rom on the cable it doesn't work.

    does any one know why!!!!

Just set both drives to Cable Select. Unless you plug the ide cable in backwards, it should work.

tryed that, it doesn't work. it only works if the cd-writter is set to master and there no other cd-roms attached for some reason.

I tryed a new ide cable and it made no difference.
In the end i disconnected the dvd drive and connected it on the ide with the hard-drive, and now the writter is workking fine. bit anoying to say the least.
