Ok My mother board is a:
    ASUS A7N8X
Which supports DDR 400 (dual channel)
Yet the memory is running at 133, What I am asking here is how to get it to run at 400

    Thanks
    .Keir.

    What CPU are you using?
I assume its one with 133MHz FSB and your RAM is running in sync with the FSB.
Your RAM is actaully running at 266MHz DDR (133x2).
Without overclocking the CPU you will not see a noticable performance increase if running the memory at 400MHz.

    Its a Athlon xp 2700+

It has been over clocked and im sure the ram was still at 133.
When I put my watercooling back in ill overclock it again and have a look, so the RAM running at 133 is no differnt to it running at 400?

I have a similar motherboard and it does not allow my RAM to run above 133 because the FSB was also 133.

Depends on the memory you are using. You mentioned overcloking, was this via the FSB or by incresing multiplier... if it were multi then the ram frequency would not chnage....

Well, it sounds to me like you should go and read the hardware and overclocking FAQ sticky. All your questions and more are answered in there.

Your 2700+ runs at an FSB of 166 by default. Your RAM could be running at any speed (possibly set to 133 (or 266 DDR) in the BIOS) but its best, as you will see from the FAQ, that you run in sync with the processor (ie at 166 (333 DDR)).

Go read the FAQ. If you still have more questions ask them in here.
