Well I turned on my box this morning and it was only then that it hit me... I haven't connected the damn power LED yet! So I took a look at it and then I realised why, for some reason the cable has a space in the middle but the bit on the mobo hasn't! Does anyone know why this is and what I should do about it? It's not a major thing but i keep turning the pc off cos the power LED isn't on! lol
You can move the little metal deals to adjacent slots in the connector if you like. Or you can just cut it down the center.
Get a teeny screwdriver (maybe tweezers) Gently pry up the small plastic flap slide the wire out, the pin is crimped on Then just slide him home in the slot where you want him.
Well most of the mobo's i've seen have the header so i suppose it must be the mobo. It's the Elite K7S5A. Surprised no one else notices cos it's quite a popular board. And yes I do have them the right way round
I have the K7VZA and it does not have the extra space either. you can some times (done this successfully once or twice) just pull the wire/pin out of the plug (brute force) if that will not work or you are afraid to try use the needle it should work.
