i was reading a magazine today (Newsweek or Time or something, doesnt matter they are the same thing) and the were advertising the Eurodollar. wth? we should start advertising the american dollar to other countries! mmm, so nice and green! now lets make a full page ad and waste all sorts of money to tell americans, most of who will never see a eurodollar, about how they come in different sizes according to denomination. btw, that sounds like a pain in the arse to keep track of in your wallet, if your notes are all diff sizes. youd be drooping smaller bills all the time!

bah, im just amazed at the wastes that i witness every day.

I think it's good that we have a history in Britain that we can be proud of, and shoud not forget it.

Having said that, I think the Euro is a good step away from rip-off Britain.

I for one am sick and tired of getting shafted every time I buy something like computer gear, knowing full well the only reason I can't get the same thing cheaper, shipping it in from America, is that HMCE and the Post Office will want in on the action:mad:

I've no doubt that it'll be tough for a while, but as far as I'm concerned, the sooner we start on the road to a REAL global economy, the sooner we get there, and the better off everyone will be.:)

If the whole world had dollars, then that George Bush blokey from the US of A would try and take over the UK and all the other countries cos he'd think we owe it to him cos we are using his countries currency, and Tony Blair and other people would let him cos they are just wierd...

    world currency...

One currency? Don't we effectively have that anyway?

Used to be there was a "gold standard" by which a county's currency was based on the actual amount of gold they had in (for example) Fort Knox. More Gold=stronger currency when converting to other currencies.

The world went off gold standard a little after WWI (I think?)
Anyway, since all currency can now be exchanged, we effectively have one currency. But you say "Wait, Mad, exchange rates change!" Well, they do based on the wackiness of futures markets, percieved economic strength, etc, BUT there is still effectively a de facto world currency, just not in name. AND if there was an actual world currency by name, you would still get fluctuations based on inflation, economic strength, etc.

Oh, and the Euro is fugly too :)

About Note sizes : Any country where they have all their notes the same size is blatently stupid. think about it, it's madness !

Not only that, they make them all the same colour ! silly people. I swear they must have too many honest people over there or something (doubtful) because otherwise people would rip each other off all the time...

don't you denizens of the USA see it as a problem ?

If all US notes are an identical size, surely blind people can't tell them apart?

    USA currency

Uh, yeah all the bills are the same size, USA is the land of "equality" so all the bills are the same size! No $100 envy for those poor single dollar bills!

Seriously though, we, like, look at the number printed on the bill?? DUH! As for blind folks, well...if some1 rips them off they deserve to die a slow painful death anyway. Peeps in the US are all sensitive and crap about the "disabled" (no I am NOT P.C.) so prob don't rip them off.

    That is all...

I think that's missing the point. Just think if you had to go into a store and ask the assistant to take the money from your wallet and sort it out for you. It's not about not being ripped off, it's just being able to do things for yourself.

wait a sec, whats to sort with american money? it has numbers on it that tell how much it is. i dunno why ppl cant add and need ppl to go into your wallet for you. if something costs 2 dollars, 1 +1 = 2. last time i checked, most of the world knows wht numbers are. if you cant add then you wont have any money to spend seeing as you are a hillbilly.

unless you happen upon some black gold while hunting. in which case we will mercilessly con you out of all of your money until you dont have any.

euro is good, dudes. And if you don't want britain to go with euros, then you better sink back in to the ocean. Don't you think we have problems with UK's very VERY high prices? You're not alone in this world, remember that   .

And the day you get euros I will be celebrating, because then I don't have to convert pounds to belgian francs to euros.
