Every year around December I find my self saying "next year I'll write a Christmas song", well this year I finally did it, albeit a little late. The song is about a subject very dear to my heart, how the X Factor has ruined the Christmas number one. I've uploaded the song along with an incredibly low quality video to youtube: Hope you all like it, and if you do please forward it on to your friends, my (slightly unrealistic) goal is to somehow get Simon Cowell to hear the song. You can also get the high quality mp3 from my website www.mattbearman.co.uk/2009/12/08/x-factor-ruined-christmas.
Ok, I'll be the first to post. I admire what you've done. You obviously love your music to have your own studio in your bedroom with that level of kit. You've also respect the message you want to put out there. Here's a few constructive criticisms for you though. If you want it to get played 4:30 is way to long (3:30 I think for any radio and shorter for novelty songs [3:00-3:30]) The choral section at the end was too long (no variation) Christmas novelty song with no Santa hats in it? Isn't that the point? Fake snow flakes falling down the screen (see #3) Needs more cowbell (kidding) Good luck
Cheers for the feedback, in regards to the first 2 points, I was gonna cut the end right down, as I thought it dragged on, and then somone posted this on youtube: Unintentional piss-taking, I'll take it Damn, didn't think to wear a Santa hat, and I'm sure there's at least one in the house somewhere, and I'd have loved to have had snow flakes, but alas, windows movie maker is pretty limited Thanks again, glad you enjoyed it
You should upload a version without the guitar solo, give us the scale, and we'll have a full-on Bit Tech collab party! I giggled, but it did drag on. If you'd thrown in some mega falsetto over the end (X FACTAHHHH ROOIND CHRISTMAAAAAAAAAAAAAS!), it would have sealed the deal for me. Cheese it up as much as possible! So, I take it someone's bulk-buying RATM this year? Will
