That is one of the smartest things I've ever heard. It's so good to hear someone actually acknowledge that open standards and interoperability are good for everyone (except, that is, monopolistic organisations looking to maintain a stranglehold...)

I'd take that info with a grain of salt... doesn't sound realistic considering what Microsoft has been pimping for who knows how long.

So, using 4 more threads will increase the CPU power x6? This seems highly unlikely. Not to mention that they said that "Every new machine has a nasty first set of games". How many people were impressed/surprised at PS2/PS1/Gamecube/Snes/Genesis games?

Just because the new xbox is shipping with crapilly designed games doesnt mean you get to put down the entire console industries launches. It sounds to me like microsoft didnt give developers enough time to make there games, trying to pull one over on sony and release there system first. Everyone said the ps2 was 'difficult' to make games for, and look what you have now, the best selling system, with some of the most innovative games, even the launch games wowed just about everyone that got there hands on them.

I also find it funny that there saying that 'everyone tells them' that the ps3 developers tools arnt anywhere near the quality of the 360's. They seem to forgetting that microsoft didnt even give them complete dev kits untill a few months ago. Not to mention there forgetting sony's system is getting released in more than half a year, do they expect to have full, high quality dev kits released already?

If the games are single threaded they will be using a single thread from a single core instead of the possible 6 threads from the 3 cores. Although in saying that have 6 threads does not equate into have 5 time more power.

What's happening to the enquirer btw. This is the second article I've seen from them today that reads like a 12 year olds school report!
