It sounded like a true banging your head against a brick wall situation. I can't stand people like the ones you've described. I'm amazed how well you've dealt with it to be honest. At least it's all over.
So you had to pay them $8,000 and they got to keep the cat? Wow, that sucks. So what was the charge they claimed against you? I read the other threads but I can't seem to see any indication of anything you did wrong, yet they must've had you pretty good if they got you to pay up to that amount. Or have I misunderstood?

Good god man! It's amazing what people will do for money these days! Screw the cat! They wanted the money! They probably just got a good 1/4-1/2 a years wages from you there and then! And they got to keep the cat >.< But seriously how can neighbours reclaim a cat after 8 years? That's just wrong!
My only comment as a person who has 3 dogs, 3 cats, 5 birds, and 17 reptiles is + rep for your pet attitude. john - who has a blind, diabetic Black Lab that gets insulin at 5 pm everyday.

I still can't believe how badly this turned out for you, justice at its best +1 on the 4chan option, somthing has to be done, and we all know how 4chan reacts to people abusing cats, and I would definitely call what your neighbours did abuse.
what i'm wondering is how can any justice system come to this kind of ridiculous conclusion? Sure, the asshats get their cat back, but how on earth can you be forced to pay anything after all you've already paid?
