Kinda funny that they've never thought of this before and don't have good methods of searching the fatter inmates.

Is metal not detectable under a few pounds of fat or did no one think about waving the nice little metal detecting wands over him?

How is that an effective weapon? Being wedged in all that fat can't be good for it. And is anyone really surprised to hear that he works with computers?

Wonder what made him come forward with the fact he had a gun? He was already well into his booking and all. Seems rather stupid to not tell them from the outset that you have that on you.

This is the reason I want a polymer gun.. Not enough metal to detect.. ;)

Many 9mm handguns can be fired underwater, after being buried in sand, allsorts. You'd be surprised how hardy something like that can be. Besides, accuracy isn't important when you're cooking fools in jail y'all.

Not true. A gun barrel is pretty much always gonna be detectable. There's plenty more metal in a gun barrell and hammer than in my set of keys, and the metal detectors at airports have gotten them before.

I know the Glock range is semi-polymer guns. I am talking about a full polymer gun. Made entirely out of non-metallic parts, and therefore unable to be detected by any sort of metal detector.

Oh well, in that case: This whole example is the reason I want a lazer which looks like a pinky finger to replace my pinky finger.

My wife is a big fan of those behind-the-scene type of crime shows, and I've caught a few episodes in passing. From what I've seen, when the police are processing an overweight person, they usually lift up the fat rolls and manually check for any contraband.

I guess they were too lazy this time around. In their defense, the temperature here is just shy of the surface of the Sun, and it's incredibly humid to boot. I can't blame them for wanting to get things over with so they could get back to the comfort of an air-conditioned break room.

And in that sort of environment, what's in between the fat rolls would have been particularly unpleasant. All the more reason [in their opinion] to hurry over the check.
