Can't you pick up antiglare protectors for a few quid/dollars which are supposed to take some of the glare out of the screen? I have no idea if they work or not but I have seen them around. In terms of netbooks - the Samsung NC10 (and successors) are considered to be pretty good stuff as well, primarily because they are that tiny little bit bigger which makes them easier to use, and battery life (which does not seem to be an issue for you). In fact I think the NC10 may have a matt screen anyway (I can't tell because my gf wont let me take the protector off that it came in the box with).
NC10 all the way. I've got one, and its excellent. Battery life is outstanding and definatly best in class. Keyboard is excellent. Screen doesn't give much glare, although in direct sunlight (straight at the screen) its not terribly good, but that will happen with any laptop/monitor. Seen one on ebuyer for £288.
I would get the Dell Mini 10 for some Hackintosh action ;P But the Samsung NC10 seems to be the best there is.
Here are CNET's top netbook picks: http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-10277465-1.html?tag=mncol They really like the 1005HA that you are looking at.

Hi I've bought the Fujitsu Lifebook M1010. Has 1GB Ram and a 1.3 MP camera, not the most important feature but I like it. It got two USB connectors and a 1.6GHz N270 processor. The screen size is 8.9” so big enough to check your emails.
