So I recently got a X1800 XT 256, I had look around for some OCing guides as theres quite a few ways of OCing these cards.

Firstly I tried the guide where you disable the 2D/3D clock switch service so the card just runs in 2d clocks (594/700) then you overclock it with ATi tool I got the card to ~720/~1680 which works fine with 3Dmark 05 over and over again, as well as NFS: MW and the GR:AW demo but BF2 hates the idea of disabling the clock switch, it never runs, just hangs on a blank screen (the system hasn't crashed because the music is always still running).

So are there any pararimiters I can run with BF2 or something that will let me run in "2d" clocks.

So the first guide didn't really work, I decided to try CCC this uses the clock switch service which can change the the requested 3d clock to a max clock of 690/1600. I ran the card on the max clocks, BF2 ran fine aswell as everything else so it seems the problem lies at BF2.

I also tried overclock ing the card to 690/1600 on ATitool with the clock switch service disabled, BF2 wouldn't run like that either.

Now I've ran out of ideas, I've tried other apps (with the clock switch disabled) like Rivatuner, Powerstrip and "Overclocker". They all give the same results as ATitool when trying to run BF2.

So has anyone got any other ideas or suggestions ?

    Thanks.

when I tried to set the clock with that the second I applied the settings it went back to 0.000mhz so that didn't work either :(, what are the Omega drivers like? do they use the 2/3d clock switcher?

Sucess, I found a way of doing this, theres an option in ATitool that allows you to load a profiel when £d kicks in, so I can keep the Clock switch service running then override it as soon as it goes to 3D mode (the onlt downside is, that if you Alt+tab out of the game it goes back to 2D clocks then back tot he stock 3D clcoks (625/750)).

    Oh yeah:

Not quite, it's 2005, I get around 5300 in 2006, also if you click the image it should open full size in a new window :thumb:.

Indeed, what mark are you refering to in your post? I've noticed 2006 is alot harder to gain points.
