Here is a little mystery for you all...

Recently I bought myself the Sapphire X700 pro card to replace my dusty 9500. Of course, it is AGP slot, so the release of X800 GT being PCI-Express only sort of softened the blow of it being cheaper and better.
Anyway, after making sure all my games now looked more beautiful, I decided to pop along to some websites... and noticed that when flash is used (and in prodigous amounts these days) that scrolling would slow to a painful crawl and rendering of the page would allow enough time to go on a small holiday before I could read a few lines down.
In particular, Hexus and Anandtech are so terribly slow to render. Could be that adword plaque they have become infected with too...
    Any thoughts?

I stopped visiting sites using InteliTXT keywords a long time ago - they annoy the hell out of me and are completely inconsiderate towards the reader who likes to highlight or run their mouse over text. The last thing that I want when I'm reading a page is for a popup to appear in the middle of the text I'm reading.

I have no problems with banners, but ffs, get rid of the green plague.

The green plague is hosted on another server, nothing to do with the website host (other than that they should have their balls removed for using such an awful and intrusive advertising method), and the speed of the site is affected by the performance of the servers where the text ads are hosted. If their servers are slow, the site using them is also slow. It's also a sign that they're not earning enough from their banner advertisements IMHO. :)

Those damn adverts cause my processor to really heat up, which in turn increases the noise level. I hate them with a passion.

Oddly enough, the new Catalyst 5.8 drivers seem to have cured my web browsing woes.
Now web pages, with hideous amounts of flash and adwords, flow smoothly like a waterfall down my screen. Huzzah!
