    Hey, ive been working with xbox that have had problems like rrod and overheating. ive been just fixing the cough*crap*cough stock heatsinks with as5 and little mods. ive been wondering for a while if there are any heatisnks that can actually replace the one that comes with the xbox 360 GPU. it doesnt matter if it needs any minor modifications like cutting or whatever. alos, i know theres a thermalright heatsink coming out soon im just wondering if there are others. also it doesnt matter if it sticks out of the top of the case a little.
    ive seen these-->

    ARCTIC COOLING ACF64LP 60mm CPU Cooler
    ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 64 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler

    any ideas?

    I can't say I know of anything, but hopefully, replacements will be comming. It looks like Lian Li is going to release their xbox 360 case. So hopefully, replacement parts are coming.

    It makes me want to pick up a second 360 just to tinker :)

    isn't the x360 based on the 1950 gpu from ati? is it possible that heatsinks for that card will fit?

    The X360 will probably take most types of heatsink which are adjustable. Pics.

    yeah, i wan thinking that something from like zalman or arctic cooling can just have thier mountings modified and mounted onto the existing board. not to mention needing to make the dvd drive external because it wont fit. thanks though

    Would actually only be £100 or so to WC a 360 I think.

    Less, if you used 2nd hand parts. Couple of Maze-4 GPU blocks, Laing DDC (or similar small pump), and a 120.1 rad. Plenty.

    In fact, I'll probably do it myself come Xmas time, I've fancied a 360 for a while, but I hate how noisy they are. Now the LiLi case is coming out, there's a perfect opportunity.

    You can probably get a cheaper kit that is smaller (no huge box) and just as good performance wise

    There is a tutorial that shows you how to replace the GPU heatsink with the 2nd generation CPU heatsink. You have to use 20 inch dvd drive power cables to mount the DVD Drive on top of the case so there is room to put the bigger heatsink on the GPU. Go to Google and type in Airflow Cables

    why do the mounting holes for the x-clamps look like they have the same spacing as Socket 478? It looks identical as my P4 3GHz's spacing for the HSF.
