Its not called the Xbox 360 Slim, just the New Xbox 360
no its officialy called the Xbox 360 S*
It's worth it just for the noise reduction. Plus my xbox is almost 3 years old so I'm fecked if it RROD's on me! It would be a bit cheeky of them to call it slim snce it's only 15% shorter but the same width and thickness of the first one.
Does anyone know if Microsoft or a retailer will be offering a discount if u hand over you existing xbox? If not eBay here we come!
This is GREAT news for me, what with my 360 being broken again.
See - the beauty now is that (with the way that shop warranties work), I could go buy an arcade, and then if that RROD's get a Slim, provided that the arcade is no longer available.
Of course, If i can afford it, i'll still go for the slim... lower noise, seemingly lower heat, lower power consumption, Wireless.... life should be a bit better with that.
I am hoping for some good trade-in deals, I quite fancy the 250GB HDD and bulit in wi-fi!
will get one later in the year, when it will most likely to come with a 500GB HDD and Kinect
My Elite is running strong and proud for the last 18 months now. I'm fine, thanks.
You could try trading in your old Xbox at Game then using the credit against the new one.
I don't find the noise t that much of a problem since the update that allowed you to install games to the hard drive. It's nothing that can't be cured by turning the volume up
ah... well thats the name on the console.
But that S doesnt mean Slim, could equally mean small, sleak, special, sport
and MS are marketed it as "the New" rather than "S" yesterday
only time will tell what sticks
Wow, I was thinking of buying a new 360 anyway since mine is on the way out, but now this has just really thrown me. For the price I was looking to spend, I could now get this. But then, the cheaper versions have just gotten even cheaper.
Why are they having such an hard time to get it small. Whereas it's already hot in there. A spacious with good vent's would be better I think.
Are the standard hdd compatible? I can't be bothered if i have to lose all my gamer data.
Am i the only one who thinks the new design is horrible?
They copied 2 of the things i hated about the PS3's design:
-ugly (fingerprint-magnet) glossy black plastic
-those touch-sensitive style buttons.
The hardware revisions sound great, but IMHO they severely beat it with the ugly stick
No, they're not. But you can get a data transfer kit for $20.
or you can use a USB stick (since the last update) to copy your saves/games accross.
I like the new design (I think, would have to see one up close).
What he said.
Also, don't forget to transfer your licences.
Even the external power supply is smaller! lolz
What a joke. 15% smaller yet it still requires external power for all that damn heat.
Looks better than the original, bit like a freeview box.
Don't like the look. Same styling as Alienware.
