    Hello,
Im pondering to get a 360 for my birthday which is in april and was wondering what the best option would be.
See ill have around £100 of my own money and ill get around £120 for my birthday leaving me with £220.
Would my best bet be with ebay? Ive seen some pretty cheap ones but ive never used ebay before and wasnt really sure.
Or i could go with the arcade version except then i wouldnt have a hardrive and any money to spare.
Also what about the RROD is it likely ill get it?
    What would you guys do??
    Thanks for the help.:p
(Im a PC gamer right now...)

i have the premium edition which is good because some games require alot of hard drive space, eg final fantasy XI
but the good thing with xboxs is that you can purchase hard drives. I would try for a premium edition if possible, you can still access xbox live arcae because I use it but it is down to they genre of games you play to depend on the storage space you'll need to play them on.

    hopefully this would have helped.

I personally wouldn't risk ebay unless you can afford to get shafted. This forum for sale section would be a safer bet if you don't want to buy new. New from an actual shop would be my first choice so you can get them to sort it if it all goes wrong, but the newer consoles are more reliable apparently. The hard drive is pretty much essential for most people.

you might see a price drop by April. unlikely but you never know :)

or set the money aside and save up, i bought myself one a few weeks back, not regretted it yet, it was a premium with assassins creed, one of the new ones with HDMI output and lower wattage PSU (lucky me), just whatever you do, dont buy the core system

I too would avoid ebay. The 360 is prone to failure anyway and you dont want to get shafted by ebayers. Most are probably RROD machines or on the verge of it. Get the premo if not an Elite, wouldnt bother with the arcade as youll need the drive space if you are the type of person that buys alot of games or maybe buy live arcade games.

Hard drives can be bought later but have you seen the price of them?? I dont think its worth the high cost to buy later.

But you wont regret buying a 360 as there are a tone of great games available and lots of bargins to have under £20 a game.

Same with me, I deffinatly wouldn't buy from E-bay. It makes you wonder... why would you sell a perfectly fine XBOX 360... for 59.99$? Obviously its broken. Even if its for sale for 189.90, STILL... I would just save up and go to a electronic store, mabye get an elite.

PS. If you get a 360, make sure to get Gears of War if you like action, survival, keep-you-up-all-night-playing-LIVE-on-a-school-night type game :D

DO NOT GET ONE FROME EBAY! The xbox is a tricky bugger the older ones tend to pop..mines just started to do the "your DVD drive is buggered...here comes the RROD" routine. If u go Ebay chances are it will be the same.

Id try Game or your local REPUTABLE game store for second hand ones. Least there u can take it back if it goes belly up. I saw a 360 premium pack there NEW ( with forza) for £250.

The good thing about the 360 is it ahs LOADS of good games and there are tons of second hand ones. Just be carefull where u get the console from(and maby take some insurance out on it if u can)

Good luck...enjoy..see ya in burnout paradise :D

Not yet, im nearing the end of my GCSE's and both my mum and dad agree i should wait till after them until i get a job. Im just gonna ask for money from my family and see how much i end up getting, if i dont have enough ill see if ive got anything to sell and make up for it.
As for the 360, i love fps's and rts as well as rpg's so a 360/ top range pc will do me good :D
    Can't wait!

Get a PC, imo consoles can't compete with these type of games (fps, rts & mmo/rpg's).

I just caved and bought myself one tonight actually (I don't even like them, but I'm going to be staying home alone an awful lot for a while so it seemed like an idea to have yet another console). Amazon currently have the Premium (console only, no games) for £229.99 which is where I got mine. I would never buy a 360 2nd hand because the stupid things die so often. The games on the other hand, I intend to get mainly 2nd hand.

For most games, I buy from Play-asia, some covers, such as PGR4 look infinitely better, most look the same
