Although I have the Fall 2007 system on my xbox 360, it can't play AVI/DIVx videos and says I need an update. What is it talking about.
A friend of mine has that issue, but even with the update installed, it has no effect. The update is listed on the XBL system as Optional Media Update or something. If you've got that installed.. Then you're in the same boat as my friend. No idea as to the solution yet.
for some reason mine will only play them when its connected to live, if it's not then i'll have that same thing come up, maybe thats the problem your having? its odd tho
Can you guys use the Gspot Application to check the Audio and video information and report back what it says please?
i dont know about anyone else but i dont know how to stream divx from vista to the xbox, media centre wont allow it, in fact it only really seems to allow wmv. i use a usb external hard drive for videos and music on the 360. but this same problem occurs if the files are on cd's or dvd's too.
There's an update required for the PC side of it I think. But I never got it to work on Vista Business at all. You can try Windows Media Connect, but I doubt it'll be any good. Look at a uPnP server software, there may be a trial that would work. But I have a Linux system with uPnP (uShare) and it streams perfectly.
You could give TVersity a go. I've got it working with other devices, but the 360 doesn't seem to like it streaming from a win2k machine
My issue with TVersity is how much it stores in its own directory. My install directory for TVersity, no matter what I changed, went north of 4gb :/
