The Scan box doesn't have a disk that contains drivers for Windows XP. That is all.
Vista, Win7 and Win8 all have the drivers for the XBox 360 wired controllers built-in.

The real difference between the PC and XBox 360 version of the controller is the wireless one. The PC version comes with the USB receiver, so that the wireless XBob 360 controller works. The XBox 360 one, is just the controller as a receiver is already built-in into the console.

Any wired 360 pad will work, i got the drivers software from the microsoft web site just to make sure it worked. As for wireless pads you just need the "Xbox 360 wireless receiver for Windows". I got one from amazon and it works great on pc and my Android Tablet, as i got the wireless receiver on its own i just needed the driver software.
