Is there a way, or a controller to buy, that looks and acts just like a x-box controller? if i can buy one, where. Is there an adapter for an actual x-box controller to pc?
i'm pretty sure there is an xbox-usb adapter, but it's fairly trivial to splice a USB connector onto the xbox controller cable - it's a USB controller anyway; only the plug is proprietary
Im sure ive seen a guide somewhere on the net that showed how to hack apart an xbox controller and solder on a USB connector instead. Have you googled?
the xbox controllers are USB already, they just have an oddly shaped connector. By opening a controller and desoldering and removing the original cable, you can EASILY replace it with a regular PC USB cable. The colors of the wires in the original xbox controller cable, are a direct match for a PC USB cable, so reconnecting the cable to right way is a no brainer.
you can slo boy xbox to usb connector cables on abay for a couple of quid too should you fancy not soldering stuff. iirc play.com might do them too
its just as easy to make ur own cable. . . if not even easier. It costs less and only takes about a min or two. All of the colors match perfectly and the drivers can be found by google.
