I'm going to be buying a 360 today or tomorrow so i'm after some advice.

What are the must have games?
Any game recommendations from the 360 store?
What accessories should I look at getting? a new headset? some kind of battery charger?

    Cheers in advance :thumb:

wireless headset is very useful, i personally dislike the wired version.

plug and play charge kit is advised but not needed i played for over a year on batteries and as long as you buy quality batteries they last a long time.

what type of games are you into? the MW2 is game you need to play if you haven't eventually it gets boring or frustrating depending which comes first lol. alternatively there is Bad company 2.

i am a fan of the fable series so fable 2 is worth a look at for RPG game play. not a hard game but enjoyable.

mass effect again an RPG game.

there are a lot more but would be helpfull to know what games your into

Thanks for the quick response. Even Gunsmith ermm.. I think :p

I'll just add in I've already got a PS3 and the main reason for the 360 is to play online with friends.
    I've already ordered MWF2 and i'll be buying BC2.

Games rarely hold my attention for long so I like something I can stick in for an hour or two without the need of following any real story.
I guess i'm really after 360 exclusives as well. Is Gears of War or Halo 3/or the new one worth picking up?

Is the official Wireless headset the way to go or are there any others worth a look?

i would personally wait for reach, rather than buying halo 3 because without all the dlc you can only play like 3 online game types and there are just team death match effectively. don't get me wrong halo is worth checking out but i wouldn't want to buy a game and all its dlc when they have a new game coming out.

burnoutuk already explained why, and that is to play online with friends and already had a PS3. Why not a 360 nothing wrong with them.

I have had my 360 for 2-3 years now with 0 faults with it, and i would guess the new generation xbox is even more reliable.

It's like the Mac vs. PC argument; it has no answer.

I can't stand the fact you have to pay a subscription to play games, I honestly cannot understand why, the PS3 manages without as well as most PC games.

ok lets get back on topic and not turn this into an argument about cost etc....

it depends how big your local tesco is depending on if they will stock them in-store as smaller shops don't really have an electronics section at all. so unless you know they have them online is a much safer bet.

also look around the net tesco isn't usually known for cheap electronics.

If you don't like 360s/consoles please don't even bother reading threads about them, let alone de-railing them into anti-console fights. burnoutuk asked for advice, let's just keep this thread for answering his questions please...

A battery charger is probably not a bad idea. I tend to use my USB AA batteries for the 360 controller, wish I could remember to charge them regularly though as they always die at the worst possible moment in a game. When I'm not playing other people I often use any AA batteries that we've taken out of other things just to use them right up. For some reason the 360 controllers will keep going until the batteries are absolutely dead (though you have to reconnect a fair bit). Then they go off to the battery bin in Tescos :)

Mindless rage took me, I apologise.

My brother has a 360 and he swears by his Play and Charge kit, it certainly makes sense.
Two games I will admit to loving on the 360 (only because they aren't on PC ;)) are Ace Combat 6 and PGR4. Really does show what the hardware can do; they look awesome.

Apparently Forza 3 is awesome, we have Forza 2 and I could never really get into it, I prefer the arcadey-ness of PGR.

Burnout Paradise is very, very good, I have it on PC but it's essentially the same game, not quite up to Burnout 3 in my opinion though.

And Halo? Halo gets a resounding 'meh' by me, I can't say it's particularly bad, but neither is it that good. I like it when you do 4 player split screen on a massive screen, otherwise it's a bit boring. That said, people rave about it and I think my opinion's in the minority.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 though, wicked game.

Oooh, and from the 360 store; Beat Hazard. Is fuuuuuun.

Well, Tesco didn't have any of the 250gb Xbox's so I ended up going across the street to Blockbuster after a bit of bartering I got them to match Tesco's price on the console, a fiver knocked off the new BC2 and a fiver off a 3 month live subscription.

Ace combat 6, MWF2, Forza 3 and a Play and charge kit ordered online.
Will look up/read some reviews on Alan Wake and the new Halo.

Going to wait till the end of the month for either the x31 or x41 Turtle beaches.
Everyone seems to be positive about them.

Only thing left is some Marketplace content. What would people suggest?
Also, thanks for the replies. Have really helped with my decisions. :thumb:
