Hey woundering if anyone here has access to the service manuals for a Phaser 350? I've so far got two (parcel force, and dhl) named after the companies that broke them, and i'm trying to make a working one I have yet to get the phaser share cards to accept theres a cable plugged in (tried both) or to link on the switch. Can anyone help me translate these error codes? i rang xerox who, well lets just say sugested i should pay them £1,000 to fix this peice of junk. I felt the need to sugest what else i would expect them to do for me for a grand. I think i know where the problem is, i just really could use a schematic or 2 and something to lookup the error codes to meaning ful values. If anyone has a copy of the CD that shipped with these printers could they also tell me! ta
I used to fix printers and ran into a few phasers. What are the error codes? I mainly worked with the mechanicals but may be able to help with the networking.
Thanks jgrade, Error codes are: 22,181.38:16060 22,203.33:16060 22,203.33:16093 22,211.32:16093 09,007.42:16096 How do these codes break down, how do u look em up? cheers.
Hope this helps 22,181.38 Jam -- Media at hand-feed, unexpected event paper hand-feed sensor FALSE. 22,203.33 Jam -- Standard tray media leading edge time-out at paper pick sensor. 22,211.32 Jam -- Media sensed at handfeed 9,007.42 (0x4c07): IL_FAULT_Y_JAM The yellow ink melt heater is on, but ink does not seem to be dripping. Check that the ink stick is able to advance in the chute. Check this link for other errors and help. Looks like most of the problems are in the hand-feeder area. Check the sensors for stuck shreds of paper. I think the 350 uses optical sensors but I cannot remember. I have seen some optical sensors with a mechinical "interrupt" (rather than paper) get stuck. The old HP 720's were famous for that. A litle dab of silicon lube fixed the problem. In case you need to know here is an explanation on how to remove the cover. First open the ink load cover and remove the four screws and release the hinge arms and lift the cover off. Then open teh front coer and reomve the two screws one on each side along the side top most screw. The left side then may just flop off and there may be a screw at the top of the right side holding it to the chassis. Both sides cover should now come off. The dmc clutch is the white mechanical spring clutch located behind the I/O board along the bottom left side, it has 3 solenoids on it. The y axis pulley is on the right side and it has 2 belts the longer one is on the drum. Power the printer on and watch the white clutch, it should rotate all the way around in 3 stages during initialization, home position is when the small hole is positioned at 12 o'clock, ensure it is in this position before power up. Thanks to marty5261 Good luck.
i was searching with the : which are the print count damnit! okay i'm getting to grips with this now, i've played around in the hidden menu, and posted on this other forum (sorry bt, i'm un-faithful!) http://fixyourownprinter.com/printer/new/24710.html The errors seam to off stopped now, (i took the ink feed assembly appart, and have jammed the sensor with bluetack. because DHL is so badly damaged, i've taken most of it appart (all the cosmetic stuff fell off!). i think it might be something like the retainer clip on the heads has falled off, according to my googling this is common, and then the heads have moved too much and broken themselfs. I would love a technical manual, i still don't know how these things actually work (ie where the paper goes, where how what prints on the drum, what the fuzzy stuff and blade are for in the maintance tray. If anyone has one can they contact me or else i will have to part with $10.50 for something i'm not sure if i'm allowed to have sold to me!!! Thanks alot for ur help!
