Hey I need to know of a good box or something to house my extension cords for outdoor use. What I want to do is custom make my cords to lay out on the ground that already fit each tree. In other words just lay the cord about 100 or so feet and have a box at each tree (which there are about 8 trees) and have a cord coming out the top going to the tree to hook up lights to it. I have a Home Depot, Lowes and Ace Hardware to buy something for it. I WILL need it to be sealed so that no rain or snow can get into it at any time. Very important! Here is a sketch of what I am talking about: Thanks, David
Look for a box with suitable IP rating (or whatever the US equivalent is). IP65 will stand a hosepipe. Suitable boxes will usually have a rubber gasket seal under the lid, and take cable glands with rubber seals round the wires. Best mounting is on a short post with all inlets & outlets from the bottom. Check out the Garden Pond area, the boxes to serve a pond pump and lighting should fit your bill.
