Pretty interesting stuff. It's not really useful in the days of plentiful RAM, but meh. :)

I didn't think it was possible to run XP on a
    8 MHz
    machine.

    That's amazing. A
    half-hour
boot time is just downright incredible. This kind of record needs to go up right next to the eight-Ghz P4...

I have to say...that's pretty amazingly sweet stuff. I wonder if this record will ever be broken, underclocking records now.

Sadly, this proves the statement made ages ago : Oh, you can run XP on a 1MHz CPU and 2-8MB ram, it'll just take an hour to boot.

im glad to see someone had the idea of just doing it.

I also thought that XP 'needed' a 333Mhz CPU or the like (But don't quote me on that)

And now, for the true retro-computing enthusiast, Microsoft is releasing a new version of its OS: Windows™ Old Skool. :D

Just think about how quiet it would run on those systems.

I remember being at school moaning about the insane system requirements for windows XP.

I did actually have it running on a 166MHz Cyrix P.O.S along with 48MB RAM, had an uptime of 14 days acting as a router before the modem burped and killed the connection - only choice was to restart.
