I am building myself a carPC and idealy only want to use nice cheap PS1 LCDs and a laptop under a seat. Mainly because i already have it, and it runs straight from 12v. So no inverter (i expect!) I want to keep everything minimal, so no keyboards or mice, at a maximum maybe a small keypad either by the drivers door or on the dash. < 6 buttons. I would ideally want it all to be voice controlled. The main usage would be telling a media player what folder to play all the tracks from. So "play incubus" would give a fairly straight forward action of open the incubus folder within a predetermined path and then play all the content. Maybe incorparating "skip" or even song title searches.
I know this would be possible by writing a small VB program, which i will probably end up doing to try to include everything i want, (media, email, internet via bluetooth and gprs. Then some way to combine it with tomtom.)
I was just wondering if there are any good 3rd party addins for XP as a stepping stone, or as a solution if its that good. Thanks very much.
