Motors Yeah just take the 101 to the 10...

So ive done it several times already, im in hollywood and am trying to get back to santa monica, I know i need to take the 101 to the 10 but I always overshoot the exit and have to get off somewhere in la and then look for the 10 west entrance.... well I finally found how to do it


101 south to the 5 to the soto exit to the 10 west



so thats why I always get lost...

another bad one is santa monica to san bernadino "just take the 10"....

10 east alternater route to the the 5 north to the 10 east

apparently there are two different 10's in LA one turns into the 60 and the other merges into the 101...


anyone else have a situation similar to this ?

 

I have a nasty tendancy to be overtaking in the fast lane right when my junction is coming up.

M6 junction 6 AKA Spaghetti Junction, all hail GPS/Sat Nav for getting me round it as i dont know how i would have if i didnt have it



Not to take the piss, but all the americans that i have met in the UK have had trouble with round-a-bouts they are very easy, we drive on the left, you approach the round about and drive round clockwise untill you reach your desired exit and then indicate and leave the round-a-bout, you do get cars, lorrys, busses, bikes comming at you from all exits and people undertaking but its quite good fun



but this one even confuses us brits, it is called the magic roundabout on all maps and road signs, its in swindon and Milton Kyenes has them too, i drove in to Swindon after driving for about 4 Months and wasnt told about the magic roundabout, i hadnt master the normal round about fully, and the direction i had said turn right at the roundabout, easy................ no not when you approach a sign like this

all roundabouts (normal ones) you go round it clockwise, but this one you go round the 5 little ones clockwise but the big one in the middle anti clockwise, i really screws with your head the first time you go round it

 

That's where you've been going wrong...

Been on both those with no real problems - spaghetti junction was 99% luck though!

 

DoH!!!!!!!! , its been one of those days,

right hand drive car, drive on the left of the road, i always wondered why everyone was flashing their lights and beeping their horns

 

If everyone was a good driver I expect the "Magic Roundabout" would be a fantasticly efficient idea, but doesn't it cause crashes from people thinking "where the hell do I go, should i be in that lane or this *crunch*"?

 

/me makes note : avoid swindon and milton keynes like the plague

'sgetti junction gets me every time, like some one else said thank god for GPS, french road signs take some getting used to as well....GPS to the rescue again

 

Oh my god, that magic roundabout is SERIOUSLY crazy.

How can there NOT be accidents there I would avoid that roundabout like the plague if I was to be driving in that area...

 

Easy once you see that diagram, just follow it round, bet you could have a right laugh in a lancer Evo there!

 

There's a magic roundabout in Hemel. It looks pretty daunting but it's not in the slightest bit difficult. You just take every roundabout seperately rather than thinking of it as one big thing.

Personnaly I think Hamburger roundabouts are way more confusing.
