absolutely gutted, what are the odds on a 10 day old car :sigh:

    secure parking my arse

on the plus side, the window will cost £55 to sort at the citroen garage (as opposed to £175 from autoglass that isnt even the proper manufacturers glass) and all the thieving pikey scum who needs to die in pain took was my tomtom mount bracket and charger, so theres another £30 there

doesnt look like theres any other damage
    but even so

wasnt the only car broken into, so i can only presume that someone tailed a car into the car park. Although the aston martin, impreza and 7-series that park across from me and the TVR and the lotus that park a bit further down were untouched :grr:

got woken up this morning by one of the maintainence guys for the building saying "your door's been bashed in", queue a mental image a what the car would resemble after being rammed in the side by a lorry, was half-relieved to find it was just the window

    What an absolute nightmare!

If they only just stopped and thought about the hassle it will cause not least the expense.

    Feel for you dude

That's bad for all of a £30'ish tomtom bracket :(

Is the bill coming out of your own pocket or from the Insurance?

I always tend to park next to more expensive cars to reduce the chance of getting broken into or my doors being knocked. I imagine they were hoping your TomTom was in the glove box after spotting the bracket.

Man that sucks. I hate thieving pricks.

What's the excess on your insurance or is it cheaper to just buy the stuff yourself (plus no claim on your insurance)?

the excess is £60, works out to just under £90 to replace the window and the tomtom bracket, so its hardly worth claiming, even though they maintain that it doesnt affect the premium, you still have to declare it so it blatantly does

I did actually think last week, maybe ill take the bracket out just so someone doesnt thinkg "ooh there may be a tomtom in there" but didnt bother as any half-intelligent person would assume nobody would be daft enough to leave a £400+ bit of kit in the glovebox

my first mistake was thinking that people who break into cars may be half-intelligent :grr:
