Just a light dusting of the powdery stuff for us... looks like someone has lost a flour fight There's a few brass monkeys with worried looking faces outside the window too
It's snowing heavily again, my area always seem to get more extreme weather than the rest of Southampton whether rain, snow or frost - suppose living in a valley explains it. Because I live on a residential road it is not gritted, when it iced over I "crashed" my car into a high kerb (I was only doing about 5mph). When I got home I discovered that my brother did the exact same thing on the same bit of kerb. Lucky only damage was the plastic bit at the bottom of the front bumper! Funny how the UK comes to a standstill in this weather when the rest of Northen Europe doesn't have a problem in worst conditions!
Your all lucky *******s, here in sydney its not going to drop below about 35C all week (its 3am and its 27c inside my house as we speak) and thursday saturday and sunday are all going to be 40C or above!! anyone wanna trade?
I had today booked off anyway for a dental appointment - which I then had to cancel. There was no way I was going to risk getting stuck in town if the busses stopped running (especially since there is only 1 an hour to where I live). The main (and only) road through the village was clear half an hour ago - It's not now.
8 Inches now here in Bordon, HANTS, Decided to jog the 4 miles in to work at 7, the number of cars I beat to work felt good 5mph is quite an achievement in the snow, for me at least ^_^ We only had about 10% of the workforce that actually made it to work.
The BBC.com says some of the snowplows haven't been used for 15 years. Proabaly had a hard time finding a qualified driver john
nearly a foot here in winchmore hill; enough to take my snowboard to the nearest hilly field and mess around with making kickers. yay my new boots are broken into now
It's been awful here in Whitehill, must be a good foot. I cleared the car off this morning in a valiant attempt to go to work, eventually got 100 metres up the road, took a look at the main road and promptly turned around and spent the day by the radiator. Hopefully I'll be able to get in tomorrow, I feel bad, like I'm skiving or something . Still I did remote desktop in and do a few bits. Thought that counts I suppose!
I didn't go to work today, really didn't fancy braving the M23 and M25 considering the traffic reports this morning. WOO SNOW DAY!!
What the hell is wrong with this country, a bit of snow and the whole place comes to a standstill. About 6" here, most main roads are fine though with all the traffic.
