My first ever real graphics card that wasn't integrated was a Voodoo 3 2000 PCI. I loved that card. I wish I still had it.

Well, my very first computer was an 8088 with a monochrome display, which was later upgraded to a CGA display. I don't know what kind of graphics card was in that.

My next computer had an ATI Mach64 which then added a Diamond Monster Voodoo card to. The next upgrade was to a Diamond Viper V330 (Riva 128), but I kept the Voodoo. That rig lasted me for some years.

I had to finally upgrade a few months back, so I picked up a Hercules 3D Prophet II MX 64.

    Then I built a new system and put a Gainward GeForce 3 Ti450 w/128 MB RAM. :D

My first gfx card was for my Pentium 75, it was a Hercules 8Mb, those were the good ol' days where you could just wake up in the morning, play a game of Red Alert then walk of to school.
    Ah memories!!

    :)

The first one I bought and put in was a Voodoo I, 8mb PCI. It opened up my world via Quake! The next time somebody told me what an AGP slot was for and sold me an nvidia. He told me nvidia would rule someday. I thought he was full of crap but I bought it anyway. Now I am running a GeForce2 with 32mb of DDR. :dude:

My first PC was a 386 back in 1994 when I was 11. Back then I had no idea about computers and all I can tell you is that it was an Elonex and even doom 2 ran at very bad framerate at the lowest settings. :sigh:

Since then I've had a few matrox's in my lower end systems and for over 3 years I three laptops with intergrated graphics not good for games at all.

    September 2000 - September 2001 :-

    Nvidia TNT2 32mb

    Current :-

Elsa Gladiac Geforce 2 Ultra 64Mb DDR

Next card when I can find it for sale :-

    Gainward Geforce 4 Ti4400 Powerpack

Cirrus logic 1mb SVGA ISA: it died for some reason and cost £35 to replace.

You know how you never thow away dead components, just put em in a box on the shelf.

Years later I tried the dead one and low and behold working. I was about 10 when I bought it, £35 was a lot of money to me!

I never played 3dfx type games so eventually upgraded from 1mb ISA to 32MB AGP, big leap I know!

Well, I had an on-board SCAMP VGA card on my 386SX/25 (man, that thing ruled! :D).
    Next was a 1MB S3 804 VESA card on a 486DX2/66.
That was followed by an S3 Trio3D AGP 4MB and an SiS AGP 4MB thing that's downstairs.
Next was a Creative GF2MX DDR, then finally my current Leadtek GF3 TDH.
    That's a lot of cards!

My first card was an onboard S3 Trio onboard in my 133Mhz Packard Bell.
    I then upgraded to a mighty S3 Virge 4MB, onto an ATI 8MB (I forget the model) Then came voodoo :D, a Maxi Gamer 3DfX... A Creative Voodoo 2, a Banshee, a Voodoo 3... A creative labs TNT2, a GF2MX 200...then a GF2MX400 and now I've got my GF2 ti 64mb..

Next a GF4 Ti...when they come down in price :D

I started with on board in a Tiny system (not good) and went straight in for a big (ish) one, a Voodoo 5 5500 dual processor and 64mb of memory, only problem is that I had to have a pci one, but still a good card nonetheless, I have since moved up to a Geforce 3 Ti200
