126 th reason their limited by age is because of the average cognitive abilitys per age group. There only averages so not overly accurate! but the BBC are looking for ratings, and this was a good way of doing it someone up theres got a good IQ
i took the standford one when i was in 7th grade and got a 172. dunno what it is now but probably alot lower from drinking my brain cells away

you should all read Intelligence Reframed by Howard Gardner. and find some good info on Multiple intelligences.. Intelligence cant really be measured at all! Biases in intelligence tests proove this.. take for instance back in the early 20s when questions about wine and polo were on iq tests.. clearly middle class people would score lower. mostly because the answer is based on a fact that the average joe back then didnt know too much about! If you want to find a measure for intelligence you need to look at how people solve problems not if they solve them correctly..(this would mean that there could be no wrong answer on an iq test) and that you would be rated on how you solved the problems and how long it took.. but if you guys really wanna know i got a 130 (which i dont care about anyway!! cause its pointless and doesnt get u anything anyway)
Your IQ is not limited by age, but the test has a maximum possible score. One of the parameters for calculating IQ is age (as your brain deteriorates with age, and also spends some time developing when you are young) and below and above certain ages you get "bonus points". How many points varies with who is conducting the test. So basically a 70 year old (or a 5 year old) getting the same score as you is effectively a smarter person. Its like running a race against a 1-legged man...if its a dead tie, lets face it, the 1-legged guy kicked your ass (in so much as he can). BC
do you need to have a recent IQ score to get jobs an stuff? like in interviews do they ask you? i havnt got a clue what my IQ. and i dont think it wud be much use to me really

When i was at school they i know it was logged as being 139. (They kept them all locked away on the comp system ) Dunno how they came across the numbers though, cos we never took an IQ test JB

well .. 156 for me, but I think the IQ measures aren't the same in UK/USA and in FRance ... Max is 160 in France
143 without getting a head ache and i only ern 20k a year i have friends with 110-120 who ern 30-35k so IQ means $#!t
No, IQ is only to do with how good you are at thinking and stuff, ha snothing to do with what line of profession you are in.
i've only taken a few online a few years back (when i was about 24), and most acme abck between 145 and 160. quite a range there, so i lowball and say about 150.
