A lot of mods I recognized from bit-tech and other sites. Your project maybe featured in Russia without your permission. http://www.casemodblog.com/?p=69 I've gotton used to this happening to my work, but others may not be Ok with it. They do credit the builders, but I'd like to see links to the original worklog link. Anyone here speak Russian and can politely inform them about this concern?
Well, there's no such thing as copyright in Russia. At least they aren't leeching my bandwith too. ...still no love for the Hypnotoad.
Don't think I'd mind... though it would be nice if they'd emailed everyone first to ask if it was alright...
It would be nice if they did notify those with material posted on their website. But meh, it'll always happen. People will always take credit for other peoples work as long as there is man on the earth.
I posted about this on wcuk. I was amazed how many sites I found my Heaven and Hell rig on that I didnt know about
I wonder what happened to that clever little forum site which mirrored this one, but had different names for every one...
You gotta give them some credit. Usually sites that show up like this are laden with spam, popups, and evil hijack scripts. This one seems pretty clean.
They interviewed me back in Dec and went through all the "permission" stuff. They seem to be fairly legit. What I can't stand are the Chinese sites that hot link photos without even a mention. Or.....forums that try to "Digg" a thread on their site when I'm hosting all the photos.
They grabbed pics of one of mine, but neglected to include any of the info so it just looks like some underpowered piece of old hardware. It then got posted on Gizmodo with even less info. Not that I really care, but by the time I found out and tried to "defend" it with facts and a link, it was a good week later.
We were talking about this over at TMN. I saw two of mine, and recognized many others' work there as well. It's...odd.
http://modsbg.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=34&Itemid=35 No rigs, but an article of mine. Been forever since I saw it... I was credited, thankfully. My faltering Russian says it at least appears to be somewhat decently translated, too.
Those were some interesting times. I think that Bit really is a better community for the modder, though. Less edgy, to be sure, but less elitist. Very open to actually modding for modding's sake. Remember the good, forget the bad, gather your lessons and move on. And move on I have. Glad to see you came too, Bill. You always were an inspiration.
