someone has to ask? wow. If Im right, its Conky. If your running ubuntu its in the repositories so "sudo apt-get install conky".
Isnt there another program or something that you should install with Conky?
OT: Looks good ShakeyJake, got a link for that desktop?

Hey everyone, thanks for the kind words.

Crompers: Its the 900. Basically the same as the 701 with a few extras. The 8.9" screen is obvious, but there's also the fact that the 900Mhz Celeron is actually 900Mhz on this model and not 633ish like the 701. 1GB RAM, fast 4GB SSD and slow 16GB SSD. Its a 901 with a celeron if you'd like.

Burnout: Yes, its conky. It ued to be a pita to configure but if you get it through the repos it'll come with everything you need. You edit a text file to determine what comes up on the screen on the monitor, everything from CPU usage to what song you're listening too to the weather . If you look to the far right of the desktop screens there's a more detailed one. Search on either the Ubuntu or Crunchbang forums to rip off some people's scripts, both forums have HUGE threads with people showing theirs off.

Null: Both wallpapers came from InterfaceLift. I know the desktop one is called 'roadside attraction' (and is dual monitors which will narrow your search) and the laptop one is 'in the dugout' but I cant find a way to search the site. Maybe it's obvious, but it's late and I'm sleepy.

Speakers on the side and it's a TV..

Changed it out though.. And nice room, although the lack of symmetry on the dual monitors isn't too..well desirable.

I don't have any ears anymore - I had to sell them to pay for the headphones.
    Collection not yet complete though...

It's a Little Dot MKIII headphone amp (technically a hybrid amp). Nice bit o' kit but I'm still on the lookout for a totally solid state amp (just to own more stuff).

Nope - they're all used for everything - although generally if I'm in bed watching something then the HD555s will be used (the silver/black one sitting on the wooden stand at the back).

And if I'm not mistaken we have the same keyboard. Saitek Eclipse II in your avatar?

Elton, if that was at me, its not a dual monitor setup, its more like master/slave or main/auxillary. 95% of the time I'm just using the 22" (like in the 'whole room' pic) and the 19" TV is just used for things like GIMP tools or when I'm writing papers. Its nice to have Open Office open on the TV and Firefox on the monitor.

I don't like 'proper' dual monitors. I always feel like one is useless, or I worry that static image (like if I had rhythmbox on one screen) it would burn in. Buying one nice monitor and a TV-that-can-be-a-montior-in-a-pinch works well for me.

    Well, it's been a while.

Desk with computery stuff on it. It's a bit washed out, but outside the window, under the rusty pipe on the chimney is a plastic owl.

Made from recycled wood. The white box near the Roomba has a Mamod steam engine in it.

Mah computer. I know it's a Thermaltake, but I love that case.

It's a bit too bright in here at the moment (room faces West,) but you get the idea. TV for Freeview and Blu-Ray and the projector for old fashioned DVDs.

I have the same chair and pillow but I toss an oversize T-Shirt on the back of the chair to save the leather.

    Good choice.
