Moved the desk around, so I have a little more backwards movement space in my chair. and now I can see PC screens from bed >.>

I've found the resistive touchscreen to render the tablet functionality pointless personally- requires far too much pressure and lacks accuracy a lot of the time.

It's pointless with your finger, but with the included pen it's great. I use the functionality a lot when i get fed up with the touchpad or when i'm playing games like plants vs zombies or world of goo. Any flashgame is also great with it (since they never require rightclicking), and i also use it quite a lot in general use. What i simply love about it is watching movies in trains. I turn the screen around, but keep it upright.

The most problematic thing about this is the heat and subsequent noise. It's generally more noisy then my 4GHz desktop. :duh:

Tell me about it- having one little vent in the back corner is the most stupid design decision ever! It never seems to quieten down either.

Do you have a side ejecting dvd drive? Also, don't the cables from the back of your pc bother you sticking out like that?

I added an older Viewsonic VX924 I just fixed (replaced power supply). Not sure if I should bother keeping it. The cardboard box isn't exactly aesthetic....

Good god that is quite a battlestation, Legoman. What do you use it for?

I would post my desk, but I am currently stuck on my netbook until my Core i5 parts arrive.

Very nice setup, I had a dual setup for a week (during an exchange for a dead pixel with my U2410)and it was great. I couldn't imagine 4 monitors

Thanks ;) I just use it for every day tasks; browsing the internet, gaming, movies etc. I've had 3 monitors forever, but it was always a jumble of different size screens that I had collected over time. At first it was 2 19"s. Then it was a 22 and 2 19's, then a 24, a 22 and a 19. Then Eyefinity came out, so I upgraded the 2 side screens to be identical to my middle screen. Now it's 3 24's

Cheers. After having dual monitors (and then triple), I can't stand having just a single screen anymore. Using my netbook is almost torturous.

I couldn't find another way to get the height I needed :(

Time for a bit of an update. I've changed quite a bit of kit since my last photo here:

Gone is the macbook, the apple 20in cinema display, the vesa desk mount, the apple keyboard, the logitech mx revolution. The VESA mount was sadly destroying the desk so I had to remove it. The ikea desk clearly isn't made well enough for all the weight.

The new kit is as follows:

    Apple Mac Mini 2.53GHZ
Apple 24 inch LED Cinema Display
    Magic mouse/Wireless keyboard

    HP Mini 5101 Netbook
Normal atom setup, but with a high res 1366x768 screen and broadcom HD card in.

I picked the netbook a couple of weeks back and realised that two laptops was silly. The HP is far lighter so I just carry that with me all the time instead of the macbook. So I started thinking iMac's and Mini's. Whilst I like the iMac's I change my systems so often that a separate screen was a must. The 24in LED Display was a bit overkill for my needs but I love it!

It's the normal netbook sort of specs, but with a few bumps.

    Intel® Atom™ Processor N280 (1.66 GHz, 512 KB L2 cache, 533 MHz FSB)
    2 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
    10.1-inch diagonal LED-backlit 1366 x 768
    160 GB 7200 rpm SATA
    Broadcom 802.11a/b/g draft-n; Bluetooth 2.0
    2 MP webcam

I've also added a Broadcom crystal HD card for HD playback. The specs are one of the best 10in netbooks out there I think. The faster drive, High res , 2mp webcam, bluetooth and wireless N are all pretty rare in the bog standard netbooks.

It's pricey new though, mine was 2nd hand, but with very little use. :)

I know you've probably answered this previously but which desk is that Gordy and more importantly, do they still sell it?

Sorry I should have phrased that better, i.e. said what I actually mean

How well does it cope with video? Does the Broadcom chip help out with Flash video?

It seems to more than do the trick. Before the card it wouldn't play any hd content with it being a slide show. With the card it runs as well as my macbook/mac mini. The new beta of flash has support for the card so it works in that too I believe. Though I've not tested it.

It cost me under £15 from ebay too, so I'd recommend one to anyone.

Ikea mikael and yes they do. :)

There are two broadcom chips, one does wifi/bluetooth. The second is the Crystal HD Card which does HD video :)
