Relatively tidy imo.
Heh - I have that identical monitor
Benq g2420hdbl? Nice size but the colours are a nightmare to set up properly. I'm still not happy with them yet.
That is a very noble amassment of hats
I like hats.
The arrival of a load of spare furniture from my Dad's flat and a bit of a reshuffle in my room has allowed me to create the Ikea gaming pod
The monitor is on a bedside table housing my PS3 which sits on top of my sub. The wheel is attached to some random monitor surround that we've had lying about for ages.
I'm not sure what's more depressing: the fact I did it, that I think its awesome or the realisation that I can never let another girl see my bedroom (not that it was likely but I live in hope)
I'm busy looking at new desks from Ikea as my current one is both not deep enough or high enough. I remember someone in here had a very nice silver / chrome dual LCD monitor arm, anyone any ideas to save me trolling through all 100 and whatever pages looking for it?
edit - found it, even at 100 posts per page it took till page 26
Also who has a Herman Miller Aeron, sure I saw one in a pic of Nexxo's, can you really recommend spending upwards of £700 on a chair?
Taken me a while to get a pic of it, but here's my setup in my new room. (yes, the desk is as horrible as it looks)
What!? That desk is perfectly alright!
Dude, think yourself lucky, im working from home on top of a chest. No leg space and keyboard on lap. Oh la la!
p.s. Does that powerball actually do anything apart from hold paper to a desk?
I'd kill for that desk. Has about five times the surface area of my desk...
Is that 2 pieces of 4x2 holding up a plank of wood for the monitor support? ghetto style
haha - ok, an explanation for the desk: Yes, it is nice and big which is the main reason i wanted this room in the flat tbh, but its only got supports at the back, so the moment you knock it/lean on it/game on it it starts shaking, which sets my screens shaking... Also the top veneer is ruckled so the mouse hits lots of bumps - it still tracks with the mousemat, but still.
I guess you can't actually see any of this in the pic.
But yeh, maybe 'horrible' is a bit too strong, and its certainly preferable to no desk, or one of those cheap ikea computer desk things.
WarrenJ - I love the powerball! I can't get it particularly fast, but i'll often use it when i'm just on the web or watching a film.
It actually isn't Its two quite nice waxed pieces of hawthorn from a tree that used to be in the garden , and the plank is... well... a plank. Although of quite nice wood
Better than on my desk - monitor stand (shelf from Homebase) is held up by empty baked bean cans, just high enough to slide my keyboard underneath
Anyone know anything about the monitor arm and (cable tidy tray)? Any one else got one?
The monitor arm looks very similar to an Ergotron. Been thinking about getting one of the dual arm ones.
You can get the cable tray in Ikea.
