    time for a subtle change....

replacing my old belkin with limited functionality is my new router, an asus wl-520gu, running dd-wrt full build. the wl-520gu has the same NIC and a slightly faster CPU than the linksys wrt54gl which is one of the most popular routers on the market. the difference is the asus costs way less. the linksys just went on sale for $50 from $80 and the asus is still half the price :D

oh that and it can act as a print server with its 1x USB 2.0 port. the decision was a no-brainer.

It might be under a different branding back then since everyone OEMed for other companies back in the day. eg. HEC and Chieftecs etc. They (Enlight) still do OEM for HP and Compaq at least up till a couple of years back.

I must say that the 723X was a very nice case back then. One of the few in those days that included intake and exhaust fans. Few casings came with those and some which did, commanded a premium. Eg. Coolermaster ATCS.

So I finally got my new active speakers set-up on some stands and foam pads, which freed up a bit of space on my desk.

The model of the speakers is the Truth 1031a by Behringer. I previously had a pair of KRK Rokit RP5 G2 monitors (which I sold recently) and I have to say that for my small room, the 1031a speakers are overkill. They go *very* loud and due to the crappy acoustics of a college dorm room, cannot really express their bass response except at the most distant corners of the space. Ultimately I think for smaller rooms, you're actually better off with the 5 inch woofers.

Does no one else have their keyboard at the back of the desk, or is this bad practice?

That guy is likely the best dollar I've ever spent. Always gets a reaction, makes every morning intense, and the light from my room makes him visible from the outside so my neighbors get to see it as well.

It's down to the really stiff wires leading up to it. Quite clever, really.

The Theater is almost set up. The rear speakers still need to go up but i need to get my new projetor first. The roll on the front of the bench is a very cheap temporary screen, 2x2 meters so you get an idea of the image size of the projector :D
