I've moved my desk from downstairs to a man cave in the spare room.

Is that a footswitch under your desk or a charger?

Yup, it's a latching footswitch. It bypasses the sub and passes the full range to the monitors.

The sub is really loud downstairs, far louder than it actually sounds when I'm sat at my desk so the footswitch means I can bypass it without having to crawl round the back to fiddle with the settings.

thanks, my favorite part of it is that the computer is placed in the basement, and there is 15-20 cm of concrete and flooring between us, the only noise I hear at my desk is the fridge sometimes starting up in the kitchen.. :)

More houses in the UK need a basement. Alas, it is not to be.:sigh:

That's one large room though, what's the rest of it going to be used for?

Some kind of living-room with sofas and stuff, I think..
The room is 10x4 meters, so I do have to buy some furniture for it...
I bought a ridiculously big house, 470 square meters or so, and I am single, so I DO have some space to occupy (I rent out 120 of them btw :) )

Tidied my desk up a bit before studying. Smaller speakers aren't connected, just there until I can get some proper stands(recommendations for a 20-30cm tall speaker stand welcome).

I really need a hardwood desk. I hate my black Ikea desk. It's horrible, especially for taking photos.

I have no idea how you guys can make do with such small desks for your PCs and/or studying/other paper based tasks! You could fit some of these desks twice into either of mine and still have space left over, and yet I still have no room on at least one of mine at a time! :( Bench space in the workshop is a similar story... No matter how much of it there is, there never seems to be enough! My bench in school is so small that I have to keep it super tidy though, it's the same size as some of your tiny desks :hehe:

I think my use of desks and benches could be compared to Ivy growing on a wall, I take up all available space!

Hey everyone, he's compensating for something with his big desks.

I think the only thing I manage to keep tidy is my room and the desk in it, everything else is horrible. I'm fine for space at the moment, but with more keyboards and collectibles on the way I'm going to need more desk space. Same for room space, with me starting things like model cars that I've been sinfully painting in my room, I need to get the garage quickly, I need a proper work area before I start college.

    Paper, what's that? :D

I'm really happy with my step up to a larger desk. It's quite a bit bigger than my old desk. If I was really hurting for space, I could buy a dual screen mount to lift my monitors off the desk, set my tower on the floor and I'd have a TON of space. But my monitors have nice built in stands and I love looking at my tower too much to sacrifice them. :p
