    I didn't buy it new, I bought it from a chap on the island for £35 which, I thought, was a bloody steal. It's very well made, and a lovely place to work/game.

    MY island. My own private one, don't-cha-know?! People here live their lives by my leave, and hold monthly festivals in my honour...

    Oh... alright... the Isle of Wight, mate.

    It's called a Comta I-Max Workstation, but I've seen the listed under other names - someone told me his was called a Mercury and it cost him £170 new. I don't think they make/sell them any more.

    The top shelf is rigid, but here is a fair amount of room for a monitor in landscape format - thats a 30" one in my pic. You can remove the shelf if needs be.

    No, you're looking at a flatpack desk for that kind of money nowadays.

    It also looks like it was made for the Apple market circa 2000-2001, going by the gallery pics, and the fact that the hideaway storage box is designed primarily with CDs in mind. It's made from very sturdy stuff - thick ABS plastic shelves and steel (or maybe Alu) framework.
