    I was recently informed I would be getting a laptop from uni (part of some initiative I think) and have been searching around the net for impressions on the 8400M GT graphics chipset in the laptop.

    If any of you have messed with one of these or if the bit-tech staff would like to give some insight, it would be greatly appreciated.

    I have one, and it works perfectly, its in a HP dv6500t laptop it has 880MB or memory (128BM dedicated) and played Half-Life 2 and CSS perfectly. it even has a HDMI out (im not sure if the laptop ur getting has this). the only drawback is that it doesn't support Linux right out of the box. to install Linux u need to get it to vesa and then install the drivers with envy. other than that i love it!

    thanks, the linux part helps as I was planning on dual-booting. :thumb:
