    Sleek.

That's the word which comes to mind when looking at the assembled frame of the case. If you didn't know the proportions, you could think some of the pictures were architectural photographs from a modern style house. Kind of needless to say, but the mesh is my favorite part of this mod, damn that thing looks good.

To sum up, the case looks fantastic, great work once again Nick.

I'd actually keep the I/O shield un-painted. makes for a good contrast against the black.

    Sweet!!!!!!!!!
    One question:
Is the I/O panel matching the mesh inside? Looks different in the pictures.
    Mod on, I'll be watching.
Oh. And the black came out really well.

Thank you everyone very very much. All of the comments from you guys over the last couple years is one of the things that makes projects like this worth it and actually possible.

The I/o sheild in then photos was actually bare aluminum but sanded and with the flash it made it look darker than it actually was. I already painted it black which will match all the plastic fan parts and such. I considered then two tone look on everything but I felt that it might be too distracting and I would have had to match the white of the powder coat (which is actually a textured off-white color) in order for it to work.

Thanks very much again everyone, this project should be complete within two weeks, in time for the buy.com LAN party in Anaheim CA where it will be unveiled (Sangaku will be there too).

I've been planning for a while now to build a wooden case for one of these, and I have to say that reading through this log has been a massive inspiration.

I was planning on using pine originally (because it's easy to get hold of) but after seeing this I'm very tempted to go with maple, if I can find somewhere that sells it...
