Quick question guys, I'm submitting a Big Adv unit about every 1.5 days and so far I've only had the P6900's. Now these units are netting me about 62k in points, so that's what.. 32k PPD. To be honest I was expecting more points.. I know about the reduced Big Adv scoring but are these figures the same as yours (2600k @ 4.5ghz)?

    Joe, I'm getting about 70K on a P6900 (that's from Stanford) @ 4.5GHz.

From the log file, what speed is your WU uploading at? (-verbosity 9 set I hope :D)

Thats my last unit to the current one.

It appears to struggle when sending the workunit then after a few failed attempts it works..

62K points in 1.5 days is 41K PPD

-verbosity 9 is the flag that controls how much information goes into the logfile. Most of the useful stuff goes in just after the line of asterisks, which you appear to have edited out. Or maybe it's a line of hashes.

You do not appear to be running langouste, which can gain you extra folding time, rather than waiting for the upload to complete. It makes the logfile look worrying at first but if you read the ReadMe file most is made clear.

Thanks for that, is it worth adding the -verbosity 9 flag then? I'm running langouste, I followed the steps in the linux guide and had no issues, is there a way to confirm its running?

Joe, looking at your log file you seem to be completing 1% of a 6900 in approx 28-29mins, my machines running at 4.5GHz do the same in approx 23mins. I'm using the latest 2.6.38-10-generic-ck kernel in Ubuntu 11.04.

Re your points, they are based on the time the data is received by Stanford. If there has been a delay in uploading, your points will will be reduced I'm afraid.

Why on earth are you running the windows client under wine? Use the native linux client as shown in the guide, this is almost certainly why it's running so slow.

Yes, add the -verbosity 9 flag. The information it puts in the logfile is useful.

Your logfile does not show langouste running. Are you sure you followed the instructions properly? Take a look at the ReadMe in the langouste folder for more information. Once we get your client working properly, you should address this, but the client is more important.

Your FahCore_A5.exe icon is not the standard one. Are you sure you installed the correct client? We need the information at the top of your logfile. Please post everything in your logfile.

I tried posting the whole log file but it was too big, I got a post error about to many characters, I'll do it again but cut out whats not needed.

When I set the client and langouste up I followed the GUIDE word for word I'm sure of it. Could the client in the guide be an old client?

    I used this:

    Code:
    cd fah
    wget "http://www.stanford.edu/group/pandegroup/folding/release/FAH6.34-Linux64-SMP.exe"
    mv FAH6*.* fah6
    chmod 755 fah6
    So 6.34?

Thanks for the great help guys. :cooldude:

    Hey Guys,

Finally got round to adding the -verbosity9 flag and taking a closer look at my langouste install, as far as I can see, its installed correctly (how can I tell if its running?) the FAH client is configured to use it (proxy) and I'd added it to the boot file (type thing..) so... I'm guessing its in there??

My last BidAdv work unit however, if failing to send.. it just keeps trying and getting nowhere...

I'll post the log. Thanks for the help guys.

    Thats bigadv...

Verbosity only changes how regularly the client updates I believe.

Langouste is prone to doing some unpredictable things. I helped tear trouble shoot a while back & had it running very reliably but still the odd time it would fail (probably fah server related). Check the guide on the f@h forums to make sure all settings are setup to avoid any hiccups.

I could be wrong but it looks like musky's guide downloads langouste 3.0-15.6 instead of 3.0-15.7 which is the latest update (with linux fix).
