Has anybody here got a Zalman Fatal1ty FS-C77 CPU cooler? As here.

I like it, it has red LEDs which is perfect, and reviews seem pretty good. However it weighs nearly a kilo, nearly twice the maximum reccomended weight for the mobo.

Would anybody reccommend it? I will do a bit of travelling from Sheffield to Southampton (~ 210 miles) and I'm worried that I might end up snapping the motherboard in half. Unless I put the computer sideways.

Or is there another good CPU fan with red LEDs?

Not to sound a bit mean, but I'm pretty damned sure Zalman have tested it as per snapping motherboards.
And I can bet that in the Manual it'll stay, "Remove Heatsink before moving case around" Or something along the lines :)

Urgh pictures of him make me cringe.

Cooler will be fine, it has a brace that you install onto the back.

At the bottom of one of the pages, Zalman states it does not take responsibility for snapping mobos etc! But the HS is easily removable I think I'll be getting it :)

how you have over 2000 posts i do not know....
anyway .. i have the CNPS7700-Cu by zalman on a computer, which weighs exactly the same and is perfectly fine... if your worried but the movement in the car or something which might break it ... then just put the computer on its side.

i thought the whole idea of this fatality stuff was aimed at lan goers etc? if that product is a bit iffy when being transported around, then its a complete waste of time/money imho.

Suddenly realised that my computer won't fit in my boot sideways or upright, the CM stacker is huge! Not unless I put the back seats down and lay the computer sideways, so I think I might be allright after all.

And no, my liking to this HSF is not because Jonathon Wendle is my idol.

Pwnt by the boot! Yeah, I'v been looking at that VGA cooler with his name splashed on it.

As far as Fatal1ty's winning/losing, I couldn't care less. I know he has my dream job though. He shoots people in computers, and makes money. Pwn.

tl;dr: they really aren't /that/ heavy. I've got the gpu cooler version which isn't much lighter. Personally I wouldn't worry too much about it.

the 7700 is the same as the FS-C77 but some how in canada the pricing is insane

    the 7700 is around 40-60
    the FS-C77 is around 80-90

I think zalman is trying to rip us off with this jonathen wendle crap

I was thinking about getting these HSFs then I think I've nearly spent 130 alone on HSF's the past 2 years.

Now I'm going to go water cooling as it is only 300 CAD yet I'll never have to change hsf due to worrying about performance anymore.

By the way, does anyone know if the M2 socket holes are the same as the 939's?

You do realise that JW charges people like Abit and Zalman to use his name, he's raking it in from royalties that are eventually passed onto the consumer.

I've ordered this, £38 was the cheapest I could find from Tekheads, and they charge me £5 for postage of 4 miles :( Their collection point in Sheffield has closed down unfortunatly.

Anyhow, all thats left to order is my graphics card, mobo and processor from ebuyer - which is also in Sheffiled, but they don't do collections... Total postage for my project including my server has been nearly £100. :eeek:
