Just read the review and it looks so nice:) i think £180 for it thi is expensive imo.

By the way. Could u fill it half with water and then half with ice cubes, so to that it stays cooler for longer? Just a thought, ive never had any experience with watercooling. lol

If you could get the ice to stay as ice forever then yes but in the real world the ice would melt and just fill it up. :)

You know, I had an idea. Why not enclose that finned beast in a piece of heating duct and run a "silent" 120mm down it? I mean you are never getting rid of the PSU noise, atleast with this product. So why not? With that much surface area I bet you it'd knock a good 5c off, it not more.

Because it would be heresy to hide such a beautiful piece of design...?

I suppose you could use a plexi tube...

I think your temperatures for the sp-94 are too high for the 2.4.
I use a 92mm vantec stealth on my sp-94 on a 2.8c @3.5ghz and get similar temps, my system is **almost** silent (ask bigz and mr_tad).
What cfm is the enermax fan you used, and what compund did you use please, did you leave the sp-94 to 'settle in'?

the LANParty does read very high, temperature wise, it's more of a direct comparison between the two than a "gospel" reading of temperatures I would say. ;)

The CFM for the enermax is on the Enermax Website (64.15CFM).

    OCZ Ultra.

And as for settling in, hardly needed as this is a comparative test, I couldn't really wait two weeks per HS to lose 1-2C.

As I said in the review, the SP-94 will be reviewed separately.

you do realise how big it is right? it would dwarf the shuttle

you could get a silent psu too
    http://www.silverstonetek.com/products-st30nf.htm

i dont see how this could compete with a sp-94. i thought somewhere i read that these tend to heat up slowly. i would like to see how the temps changed after stressing for a day or more. did you try to mount or remount the sp-94 at all (i realise that there will be a separate review, but i thought the sp-94 would shoot the zalman out of the water :hehe: ) also, i dont understand why they gold plate the waterblock, the thermal properties of gold are worse than copper.

Never thought about water cooling, but i am so tempted now :cooldude: ....it has it all looks and easy to install, so even a noob such as i could fit it without fear of meltdown :duh: (well maybe)

shame it does'nt come in black tho

That PSU runs at 250W at 110V, hardly sufficient for today's power requirements...

The PC was left stressing for more or less 4 days and trust me, I did not make up any of those temperatures. Yes, the sp-94 was remounted several times. Gold plated to prevent oxidisation, I am sure that such a thin layer will not hamper it as gold is nearly as good at heat transfer as copper. I can't understand why people don't believe me, I guess there is such a thing as a Thermalright fanboy! ;)
