The lid is the top, that you take off to pour the water into the system.

    y00r solution.

What you do is get a small magnet laying around your house and pass it by the impeller in a circular motion releasing quickly. This will manage to get the impeller started. Now move the whole system and lean it against your case at around 70 degrees leave it there for a day or so while it works to remove the air and create a good water flow. once this is done you can try to let it stand normaly. It should work then. If it doesn't let me know.

Dude the pump works fine but I may try that trick with my pond filter pump time to make me a 120volt 1800 watt super electormagnet.

Thats the first i herd some one tried to fil a Zalman Reserator 2, Treu the tubes.
Hope you didend run the pump when it was stil dry.
And the pump aint a real powerful one only 300l/h max. so dont espekt a real fast flow. four the rest the reserator 2 is a real fine kit four beginners :D real easy instal and strait to the point. and silend to

I know how it feels when things dont work the first time a round. and you get prity pist off. but try to relax. and walk a way from it.
i can remember my first kit lol. i got prity pist and confused. i did every thing the manuel sed but the pump dident do nothing.
i djust walkt away. and watcht a nice movie. and then it hit me :duh:
ther wer 4 pins. i thoght it was to tweak the pump with jumpers. but when it hit me i realized the spacing between was to big four a jumper :hehe:
and i rememberd that the spacing was the same of a power conector of a diskdrive  so i did and every thing workt fantastic :D and i olready found it prity weard. wy djumpstart a psu wen nothing in the manuel sed i had to conect it. when it olredy had exsternal power. :hehe:

so what i am traing to say is relax. if you get pisst off. djust walk away.
it olway's works four me :D
