Hey, The good news is that Chaintech's USA RMA Center is in Texas... bad news is they charge $30 as a testing fee even on an rma that is their fault, oh well, you can probably get it pretty quick, as I think the center is in Richardson, a northern burb of Dallas, only about 200 miles from you...(yes I know it's a long drive, but they may even waive the fee if they see what you are doing with this board... or maybe they will say "you can't do that with this board" ... better thought... don't tell them what you have done with your connectors... could be the problem too, make sure nothing can accidentally short.. like USB cables...

Well I brought the board to work again.
I am busy, but I have another tech working on debugging the board.

So far: It's not a dead bios, as we flashed a fresh chip and it still does not boot.
I think it may be a power problem, or sensor problem as the CPU does not heat up. (And the CPU is not dead)

There is a pin on a Athlon called "Power Good" it is connected to nearly everything on the motherboard, so we are back-tracing that first.

Re: I got images of the second case now:

Mount it in the top and hinge it so when you open the box you can swing out the LCD and rest it on the bottom so the top is prooped open by the LCD.

Ok, and update on the board.

Three of us worked on the board for hours.
The BIOS is not even attemping to read.
There are no clocks traveling to the processor.

Also, after doing so much carefull examining of this board, I can say that I DON'T Recommend this Chaintech board.
I found mutiple cold solder joints. (One even on the CPU Socket)
The board behind the northbridge gets hot, and the heatsink mounted to the northbridge has ZERO thermal grease, nothing at all. (It's just for looks)

I hope the RMA goes fast so I can get this up and running.

BUT I do still have some new-stuff that I thought up and will be posting soon.

Hot swap-able means you can safely plug or unplug peripherals while the computer is powered. That would be USB or Fire wire. Anything else could damage the computer while power is on. Even when you buy a new computer, the manual warns you to plug everything in before turning it on. :)

SORYY ZAP !! For the wasted thread space

I'm not a technician but from what I have read.
Most motherboards come with there own power regulators on board and if the board is running and you plug an item in it can cause a serge. They are finicky, temper mental and do not like change. I have also seen printed circuit lines on a board as thin as a ¾-amp fuse wire burn open. The electronics forum would be your best bet.

    THE END

Hinge the lid, and mount the LCD in the bottom of the lid. So you open it up, and the screen faces you. :)

I like the lid hinging idea for the LCD.

Well I have finaly decided on what I am going to do for the LAN.
I am going to use the motherboard for my Media PC and run it in the back of the case.
That way I will have the system running as close to original as possible. (As both boards a nForce2 systems)

But as you will soon see, very little coolness has been lost...

Ok the other motherboard is working just fine,I am typing this from the LAN PC right now.

    (Using all custom jacks)
Since I need a lot of time for installing software, and tweaking, I don't think that I will have any images of the new temporary setup until later saturday.

trueSpace3, it is posted near the start of the thread.

I wish I could choose a different board now, but my only choice is to still use the Chaintech.
